It has been a long time since I uploaded any pics of the battalions that I have been working on so without further ado I present to you the 1st Battalion of the 4th Swiss Regiment.
There are 24 models in this battalion, mainly plastic Perrys. The mounted officer is from the 1815 Perry French range.
I had a really tough time researching the uniforms of these guys and although the plastic Perry infantry comes with a painting guide it only covers 1815. So I had to rely on the histofig site and the kind assistance of TMP to get the uniforms right. Of course the biggest problem is that these figures are in Bardin regulation uniforms and I wanted to model a unit that fought in the invasion of Russia. So I had to make a compromise and mix some plastic victrix heads for the grenadiers (bearskins) and the plastic perry french.
Although the purists will probably stone me to death I have to say that I am pretty happy with them and once they are on the table no one can really tell the difference between Bardin or non Bardin uniforms.
The only thing remaining now is to texture the bases...
Hope you like them!
